Leyksha Pumarino

I have a passion in public health and this empowers me to help communities and encourage healthier behavior. Maternal and child health, health education, and community health are my areas of most interest. Being bilingual helps me to interact with a number of individuals and a significant encounter with a professor inspired me to pursue this field of study. In order to enhance relationships and make health information more accessible, I aim to apply my abilities at a hospital or with the Indiana Department of Health.

About

I'm Leyksha, a public health major with a focus on maternity and child health, health education, and community health. I have a passion in how various environmental, and cultural variables affect health outcomes, and I find it compelling to discover how public health initiatives can help family and community health.

As a bilingual individual, I like communicating with a variety of individuals and contributing to improving the availability of health information. To be able to promote local programs and contribute to significant, evidence based change, my ultimate goal is to use my skills in a healthcare facility or with the Indiana Department of Health.
