Community

I have participated in a range of experiences outside of my degree's official coursework during my academic career. These valuable possibilities, projects, and activities are highlighted in this section and its subpages. Every page will highlight a specific occurrence and provide my own analysis of the lessons I took away and how they helped me improve.

Food Bank Assistance
Lafayette Urban Ministry

I was fortunate to assist with food preparation and gain personal knowledge of the difficulties that homeless people encounter on a daily basis by volunteering at the homeless shelter. My understanding of neighborhood support groups and the value of easily available resources has been improved by this experience.

Be a Good Neighbor Event

I had the opportunity to work with public health workers to provide residents with useful services and information by taking part in the Be a Good Neighbor initiative. This event showed the importance of public health outreach and community involvement in creating healthier communities.

Street Cleanup
Enjoying a Meal
St. Anthony's Rehabilitation and Nursing Center

During my time as a volunteer at the nursing home, I helped both patients and staff with minor tasks, and activities.  My understanding of elder care has grown as a result of this experience, which has also improved my connections and caring abilities.
